CLIENT

Our client is a global investment management company with offices and clients across the world.

This client has been using Santis Global since 2019 for the provision of daily courier services including international, UK overnight and sameday courier services.

Every year they have also been using Santis Global for the fulfilment & distribution of client’s Christmas gifts, which they have been importing from South Africa.  

CHALLENGE

Due to changes related to Brexit, our client was potentially facing customs bill of over £23,000 due to clearance charges on each consignment and VAT charges of each item which added up to around £34.00 per consignment. 

They have communicated their requirement with Santis in September asking if any of those charges could be removed or at least reduced.

Solution

Their Account Manager was happy to let them know that it was something we have already thought about and introduced the alternative of using our EU operation in the Netherlands.

The offer we have made to the client was to bring all the goods from South Africa directly into Netherlands where our broker would clear them and deliver them to our EU warehouse.

Our EU warehouse fulfilment team would complete the packing on individual gifts and pack them ready for distribution. Team fulfilled, packed and labelled 700 consignments and ship them out to individual addresses.

We are looking for someone who can deal with the challenges of working within a small team in a fast-paced environment. The person would be someone that wants to work for a growing company and grow with us. We are expanding and the people we need will want to make a difference and come with plenty of enthusiasm and willing to jump in when and where required as the days require.

Strong communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with both internal and external customers both face to face and on the phone.

This is an office-based job, with hours between 10.30-19.30, Monday to Friday

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Running the Courier Operation
  • Maintaining the warehouse
  • Controlling all incoming and outgoing parcels.
  • Working with a team of part time people in the afternoon / evening
  • Working on operational systems – Metafour and DA
  • Knowledge of the courier industry
  • Driving licence (would be an advantage but not necessary)
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Bringing new ideas to the business to improve the operation

Your Skills and Experience:

  • A positive and resilient individual who excels at all forms of communication.
  • An engaging personality with the ability to connect and empathise with people from all backgrounds.
  • A creative and resourceful problem solver with tonnes of initiative.
  • 2+ years customer service experience, dealing with multiple contact channels (ideal but no essential)
  • Experience dealing with couriers and customs clearance desirable (ideal but not essential)

About the role:
Our customers are the heart of our business, we care about their consignments arriving to their destination on time. This is why we are looking for a reliable biker who wants to deliver a first-class customer service experience. As Santis Global biker you will be the face of our business from collection until delivery and therefore a crucial part of what we do.

We are looking for Bike Couriers (push bike, motorbike, cargo bike) to join our Central London Corporate client circuit.

We are looking for full-time or flexi-riders Monday – Friday for a circuit that is busy between 7am – 7pm! Do the hours that fit in with you but if you complete a full working week, we add a 20% weekly attendance bonus on all earnings.

If you are looking for Cargo Bike work we do have positions available where we provide the bikes for you.

All other Bike vacancies require you to have use of your own bike (courier insurance is needed where applicable)

This is a self-employed contract with an opportunity to be taken on as an employed member of staff in 2022.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Collecting small packages from our clients and delivering them to the requested delivery address
  • Ensuring all packages are successfully delivered on time
  • Multi collections with one drop off
  • Regular communication / updates with the team
